God Is Waiting on You
January 25th, 2026.
“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” (James 4:8)
One of the most shocking truths many believers never realize is this: God is not the One delaying anything — we are. We say we’re waiting on God, but in reality, God has been waiting on us. Waiting for our step. Waiting for our obedience. Waiting for our movement. Waiting for us to act on what we’ve already prayed about. Heaven is not slow. God is not dragging His feet. The moment you prayed, God heard. The moment you believed, God responded. But He will not move until you move.
This is where many Christians get frustrated. They pray, they fast, they cry, they declare, and then they sit still. They expect God to do everything while they do nothing. They want God to part the sea while they stand on the shore. They want God to multiply the oil while the jar stays closed. They want God to open doors while they never walk toward the door. But that’s not how God works. God responds to movement. God responds to faith. God responds to obedience.
Look at the pattern in Scripture. Every time God moved, someone moved first. Moses stretched his hand. Joshua stepped into the Jordan. Peter stepped out of the boat. The widow poured her oil. The lepers walked toward the enemy camp. Faith always moved first. God always responded second. Not because He is powerless, but because He has chosen partnership. He will not do your part. And you cannot do His part. But He will not do His part until you do yours.
This is why many believers feel stuck. They think God is silent. They think God is delaying. They think God is ignoring them. But the truth is, God is waiting for them to take the step that proves they believe what they prayed. Faith is not just believing God can do it — faith is acting like God will do it. Faith is movement. Faith is obedience. Faith is stepping out even when nothing looks ready.
Think about Peter again. If he had waited for the water to turn into ice, he would have died waiting. If he had waited for the storm to stop, he would have missed the miracle. If he had waited for perfect conditions, he would have never walked on water. The miracle was not in the water — the miracle was in the step. And the same is true for you. Your miracle is not in the situation changing. Your miracle is in your movement.
God is ready. Heaven is ready. The answer is ready. The provision is ready. The breakthrough is ready. But God is waiting for your step. He’s waiting for your obedience. He’s waiting for your movement. He’s waiting for you to act on what you already know. You don’t need another prophecy. You don’t need another confirmation. You don’t need another sign. You need to move.
Stop saying you’re waiting on God. Start realizing God has been waiting on you. And the moment you move, you will see that heaven was prepared all along.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for being ready to move in my life. Help me stop delaying what You’ve already empowered me to do. Give me boldness to take the step You’ve been waiting for so You can release what You’ve already prepared. Amen.
