God’s Will Is Your Wholeness
November 4th, 2025.
“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” — 3 John 2 (KJV)
God’s desire for your life is complete well-being — not just spiritual, but physical and emotional too. In 3 John 2, the Apostle John writes to Gaius, expressing a heartfelt wish: “that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” This verse is more than a greeting — it’s a revelation of God’s holistic care. It shows that divine prosperity is not limited to finances or ministry success; it includes your health, your relationships, your peace of mind, and your spiritual vitality.
John’s use of the word “prosper” (Greek: euodoōmai) refers to success in all areas of life. “Health” (hygiainō) speaks to physical well-being. And “soul prosperity” points to spiritual depth and maturity. The structure of the verse suggests that physical and material blessings should align with the health of your soul. In other words, as you grow spiritually, God desires that your outer life reflects that inner growth.
This truth is echoed in Psalm 103:2-3: “Bless the Lord… who healeth all thy diseases.” Healing is not a fringe benefit — it’s part of the covenant. God doesn’t want you sick. He wants you whole. Matthew 8:17 confirms this: “He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.” Jesus didn’t just die for your sins — He died for your healing.
Yet many believers live beneath this promise. They accept sickness as normal, even spiritual. But sickness is not a tool of God — it’s a consequence of the fall. God may use suffering to refine us, but He never delights in our pain. His will is healing. His heart is restoration.
Healing comes in different ways. Sometimes the body heals itself — a design God built into creation. Sometimes He uses medicine and medical professionals — instruments of His wisdom. And sometimes, He heals supernaturally — instantly and miraculously. No matter the method, the source is the same: God.
So today, let this truth settle in your heart: God wants you well. Not just spiritually, but physically. Not just emotionally, but relationally. He wants your life to reflect the prosperity of your soul. Don’t settle for less. Don’t tolerate sickness as your portion. Claim healing as your inheritance.
Prayer
Father, thank You for caring about every part of me — spirit, soul, and body. I receive Your promise of healing today. Help me to walk in faith and reject anything that contradicts Your will for my health. Amen.
