The Illegality of Sickness
November 6th, 2025.
“Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.” — Colossians 1:13 (KJV)
Sickness is not just unfortunate — it’s illegal in the life of a believer. Colossians 1:13 tells us that we’ve been delivered from the power of darkness and transferred into the kingdom of God’s Son. This is more than a spiritual relocation — it’s a legal shift. In the kingdom of light, sickness has no authority. It’s a trespasser.
Exodus 15:26 reinforces this truth: “I am the Lord that healeth thee.” God doesn’t just tolerate sickness — He actively removes it. Exodus 23:25 goes further: “I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.” These are covenant promises, not poetic metaphors. They reveal God’s stance — healing is His will, and sickness is a violation of His covenant.
1 Peter 2:24 declares that by Jesus’ stripes, we were healed. Past tense. Already accomplished. Healing is not something we beg for — it’s something we enforce. But many believers don’t walk in this reality because they’re unaware of their rights. Hosea 4:6 says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Ignorance is costly.
When you don’t know that sickness is illegal, you’ll tolerate it. You’ll spiritualize it. You’ll adjust your theology to fit your experience. But the truth remains: Jesus paid for your healing. It’s finished. It’s yours.
This doesn’t mean we won’t face health challenges. But it does mean we don’t have to accept them as permanent. We fight back — with faith, with prayer, with truth. We declare God’s Word over our bodies. We reject every lie that says healing is uncertain or unavailable.
Healing is not just a miracle — it’s a legal right. You’ve been transferred into a kingdom where health is the norm. Sickness may knock, but it has no legal access. You are covered, protected, and empowered to resist.
So today, renew your mind. Don’t just hope for healing — claim it. Don’t just endure sickness — confront it. You are a citizen of heaven, and in that kingdom, healing is guaranteed.
Prayer
Father, thank You for delivering me from the power of darkness. I reject sickness and embrace healing as my covenant right. Help me walk in the knowledge of Your promises and enforce them with boldness. Amen.
Reflection Question
Have you been tolerating sickness that God has already declared illegal in your life? What truth do you need to stand on today?
